There were used to be a few number of manga that I cannot resist to browse to Onemanga and search for its scanslation, Full Metal Alchemist, for example. The main reason is scanslation requires very much effort to read and translate. More importantly, it doesn't allow me to read while I'm rolling on my bed. However, there is an exception for this manga, Bakuman.
This latest brainchild of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata tells us the story about 2 school boys who dream to be mangaka, or manga artist. It reveals how a manga is selected to be serialized in the weekly magazine and how the editor and mangaka work together. Although this story is fictional, it sometimes refers to the other popular manga which are running in the magazine such as One Piece, Bleech, Naruto and Reborn!. It is revealed later that some of the characters are based from the real-world people, at least most of the editors team. In short, the plot is irresistible and the tone is much different from their previous masterpiece, Death Note.

Recently, I picked up my copy of Death Note and re-read it to the end. After I finished the series, I read the staff page which resides in the last page of the last volume for the first time. Amazingly, there is the editor name who responsible for this manga, Kochi Yoshida, printed right after the head of editor's name. Then, I swiftly looked up his name from my copy of Bakuman and also spotted his name on the character page. He is the editor who responsible for the "Otter #11". And if I guess correctly, the editor of Otter #11 and Death Note is the same person!

Although this is not so surprise after I know the fact that some of the characters are based from the real people, this still amazes me and makes me wonder who is the editor for Bakuman. Someone said he is Aida (the bottom right guy from the above picture). I have no idea about this. Who do you think?
