Come back to GAE
We moved out and now we move in. Birdnest is now hosted by Google App Engine again.
Due to the latest policy changing of App engine, timeout for outgoing request now increased which is barely enough to make a request to Twitter. And importantly, Birdnest onedd gateway encounters sometimes unstable condition. So @sugree said we should backport Birdnest to App engine, at least for backup purpose.
The porting process is done easily. Thanks to web.py that supports App engine out of the box and thanks anyone who makes httplib available on GAE. I just changed some code to check if it is hosted in GAE or not. It took about an hour and the process was done.
In fact, I've tested this gateway myself for sometime (Truthfully, @sugree and I call it raping the birdnest). Thanks to @projectlib and everyone who help me test it.
If you are a jibjib user and want to use this gateway, sweet. Just go to setup screen and choose "Birdnest appspot" gateway. That's all. If you are not birdnest user, go to birdnest homepage to learn more about it.
However, I have ported only JSON part. So ping me if you are XML user and want me to back port it.
Happy Tweeting!!
